Robert Eggers' 'Werwulf' Wraps Production for a Festive Release
Renowned horror filmmaker Robert Eggers has completed production on his latest masterpiece, 'Werwulf'.
This period horror film, which began filming in the UK last autumn, is set to captivate audiences worldwide when it hits theaters on December 25th, courtesy of Focus Features. Set in 13th-century England, 'Werwulf' brings local folklore to life with a chilling twist, as a mysterious creature stalks the land, turning legends into terrifying realities.
Eggers takes the helm, directing from a script he co-wrote with his 'The Northman' collaborator, Sjón. The stellar cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Ralph Ineson, and Bodhi Rae Breathnach, each bringing their unique talents to the screen.
'Werwulf' is produced by Eggers and Sjón, alongside Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from Working Title. Executive producers include Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus from Maiden Voyage. With his eye for detail and masterful storytelling, Eggers is poised to deliver another cinematic experience that will leave audiences enthralled.
But here's where it gets intriguing: While 'Werwulf' is now complete, Eggers has already embarked on two new projects. He's set to direct a fresh take on Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' for Warner Bros. and a sequel to the beloved 'Labyrinth' for TriStar. The question now is, which project will be his next big adventure?
