Jimmy Kimmel's Hilarious Take on Melania's Movie Premiere Flop
Jimmy Kimmel recently took to the airwaves to roast Melania Trump's highly anticipated documentary, 'Melania'. The comedian used a revelation from The Daily Beast's 'Inside Trump's Head' podcast to highlight the first lady's frustration with the national backlash to her husband's Minnesota crackdown overshadowing her film's premiere.
The podcast's episode revealed that Melania was 'truly upset' that the tragic events in Minnesota had stolen the spotlight from her $75 million documentary. Kimmel joked, 'According to Michael Wolff, Melania is bigly upset that the murders in Minneapolis are overshadowing the release of the $75 million bribe—I mean, documentary—that Amazon made for her.'
Melania's documentary, 'Melania', is set to hit theaters this Friday. However, based on its disappointing presale ticket numbers, box office experts predict it won't perform well. Kimmel noted that the White House held a VIP premiere screening of 'Melania' on the same day as the tragic shooting of Minnesota citizen Alex Pretti.
'Now while she's promoting her film, she has to answer questions about it,' Kimmel said. He then played a clip from a Fox News interview where Melania awkwardly called for 'both sides' of the nation to 'unify'.
'Oh, good, Melania's calling for unity,' Kimmel said dismissively. He then joked that the early reviews for 'Melania' don't seem too promising, showing a clip from the same interview where Melania gushed about how much Trump 'loved' her film and called it a 'must watch'.
'Well, for him it is a must watch,' Kimmel said. 'My guess is he saw the first eight minutes and fell asleep in his popcorn bucket.'
Kimmel also mocked Melania's claim that her son Barron Trump, who is featured heavily in the film, liked it too. 'Her son and her husband liked it,' Kimmel said. 'All the people in the movie are giving it rave reviews. That’s enough for me!'
However, Kimmel revealed a darker side to the documentary's production. He quoted a Rolling Stone article stating that 'two-thirds of the New York crew' for 'Melania's' film had reportedly 'asked to have their names removed from the credits'. Kimmel joked, 'Two is a lot of thirds. Two is, maybe, almost half. Possibly even more than half.'
Kimmel's take on Melania's documentary premiere was a hilarious and revealing look at the behind-the-scenes drama and the public's reaction to the controversial film.
