Rose Sigal Ibsen, Romanian born, has an unusual gift for Asian painting
and calligraphy that could strike some viewers and critics as an “inexplicable
anomaly.” Sigal Ibsen’s unique talents for sumi-e did
not appear until later in life. She can only explain this remarkable
ability as a “Gift from God.” Currently, eastern masters
of the art C.C. Wang and Wang Fangyu endorse her work and welcome her
as a peer.
Artist’s Statement: “Why did I, an enamellist, become
a calligrapher? I really don’t know. When I went to
China to study something happened in my heart… …the brush,
the paper, and I have become one spirit.”
